One day my fiance and I were visiting Khan el Khaili souk in downtown Egypt and I couldn’t stop staring at these GORGEOUS lights! I wanted one in every shape, size and color! My fiance raved that all travelers that came to visit him on business were just as awe-struck as I was and suggested that I start sharing my love for these lights with the world!
After flying back to California, USA with eight sample pieces to convince my best friend to be my business partner, Layla Lights was born! We chose a name and a theme in a matter of minutes and everything thereafter just seemed to flow in the right direction effortlessly.
The inspiration for the name Layla is two-fold. Layla means night in Arabic so, Night lights’ just fit perfectly and its also my mom’s name, so I earned some brownie points there.
Each light is handcrafted by a local Egyptian and handpicked by me and I hope that you love the designs as much as all of us foreigners and locals alike.
Happy Shopping!
